My name is Michelle, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to the exciting adventure of baby communication!

I've always had an interest in languages.  I found my passion for ASL (American Sign Language) in 1994, when I enrolled in my first college course.  After taking as many signing courses as they offered, I began study at the Canadian Hearing Society, and then went on to volunteer as an English literacy tutor for D/deaf learners.  In 1997, my new love of the Deaf language and culture led me to study Linguistics in university, where I was also introduced to first language acquisition. 

When my daughter was born, the pairing of the two seemed like a natural step, and I began signing with her almost immediately.  I am now a Certified Baby Sign Language Instructor.  The ability to help other parents open up insights into their baby's thoughts is a truly rewarding experience.
